So I would like to share with everyone why I started knitting. It happened the
Christmas of 2009, I was getting some new patterns for my mother as she is an avid knitter, and came across a pattern for Pygmy Puffs (and for those of you who don't know what they are they are a creature off of Harry Potter). Now my mother offered to knit me one of these but I was intent upon doing it my self. I was definitely a Harry Potter fan back them (I still am only not to the same degree). After I did a few of those I moved on to something harder and within a week I was making a Cell Phone Cozy, in the shape of a sweater with an 'R' on the front, now this was only impressive because it required 4 needles.
Now after a few years and some practice and some breaks I am knitting on a regular basis. However I find it hard to find enough time with working full time and have a boyfriend to spend time with. However I am currently intent upon making 7 pairs of slippers for Mother's Day (one for my Mom, one for his Mom, 4 Grandmothers, and one for my Moms best friend), now I have already started pair one and they are about 3/4 of the way done, and I did these ones first because they have to be mailed out.
Now I am notorious for doing more than one project at a time. I and half way done a cloth and towel set, and half way done a scarf, about 1/4 done another scarf, about 1/3 done a third scarf, have just started another scarf, and am about half done a small stuffed toy. So in total that is about 7 projects on the go.
Now you might wonder what I do with all o0f these. My mother does Farmer's Markets and I help keep her table full, as well as sell some of the other stuff on the side. I don't really make any money out of the deal considering how long some of the projects take me, but I enjoy doing it.
I would also like to take a moment to say that questions and comments are most welcome. I also would like to know if anyone one would be interested in me posting challenges (IE. I post a pattern and everyone sends me a picture and their name of the completed project).
Let me know what you guys think.
~Sabrina
