Finally Some Finished Projects

So in the last little bit I have finished a number of projects. I finished: 10 pom pom Owls (which I unfortunately forgot to photograph), 8 Crocheted owls (they were crocheted for me I just put them together and finished them, an apron for my sister, and a dragon (which again I forgot to photograph before it left my possession). I am also determined to learn how to crochet. There is a pattern for Appa from Avatar: The Last Airbender that I really want to make, unfortunately it is crocheted and I only knit, and I haven't been able to find a knitted pattern, so the only solution is to learn how to crochet. I mean back when I learned to knit it was a single item that inspired me to learn, so why not this time too?

So I guess some pictures are in order:

Does anyone have any requests for items they would like to see?

Slippers

So I did manage to finish on time, if only just. I finished the last slipper just before we left to my boyfriends grandmothers to give his grandmother and mother theirs. The other 5 pairs were mailed off four days prior. They all turned out wonderfully, however I did have to remake one pair and modify the pattern to fit my boyfriends mothers needs. They are the ones pictured with the ties. This was a great accomplishment for me. Next on my list an apron, and 2 scarves.

Slipper Race

It has been a race against time these last couple months. First I had to get a Marvin stuffie finished with the required customizations that the customer wanted. And then I started the slipper race. With 5 pairs done I only have 2 left which only need to be sewn together. So this is one race I will win! I will post pictures a little later since I'm at the wretched day job.

Slippers

So pair one of the slipper mission is almost completed. I just need to finish the top of the second pair, and then tomorrow we are going to visit my Mom, Dad, and sister. Now when I go out to visit my momj it is an hour drive and I will be getting her help to finish off pair one, as I have never done slippers before and am unsure how to go about finishing them.

Now I have today off from the "Day Job" and hope to accomplish some of the wreched house cleaning, and plan to get pair 2 almost to completion as well. I also want to finish my custom ordered Marvin toy. It doesn't need to be done until Mid April, however the sooner the better I think. I shall post pictures of the above once they have reached completion. I also want to put the eyes on my Owlettes to finish them so that they can go out to my Mum's. But they won't take much. A hot glue gun and a little time and they will be completed.

Are there any projects you guys are working on currently?

Starting Out

So I would like to share with everyone why I started knitting. It happened the
Christmas of 2009, I was getting some new patterns for my mother as she is an avid knitter, and came across a pattern for Pygmy Puffs (and for those of you who don't know what they are they are a creature off of Harry Potter). Now my mother offered to knit me one of these but I was intent upon doing it my self. I was definitely a Harry Potter fan back them (I still am only not to the same degree). After I did a few of those I moved on to something harder and within a week I was making a Cell Phone Cozy, in the shape of a sweater with an 'R' on the front, now this was only impressive because it required 4 needles.

Now after a few years and some practice and some breaks I am knitting on a regular basis. However I find it hard to find enough time with working full time and have a boyfriend to spend time with. However I am currently intent upon making 7 pairs of slippers for Mother's Day (one for my Mom, one for his Mom, 4 Grandmothers, and one for my Moms best friend), now I have already started pair one and they are about 3/4 of the way done, and I did these ones first because they have to be mailed out.

Now I am notorious for doing more than one project at a time. I and half way done a cloth and towel set, and half way done a scarf, about 1/4 done another scarf, about 1/3 done a third scarf, have just started another scarf, and am about half done a small stuffed toy. So in total that is about 7 projects on the go.

Now you might wonder what I do with all o0f these. My mother does Farmer's Markets and I help keep her table full, as well as sell some of the other stuff on the side. I don't really make any money out of the deal considering how long some of the projects take me, but I enjoy doing it.

I would also like to take a moment to say that questions and comments are most welcome. I also would like to know if anyone one would be interested in me posting challenges (IE. I post a pattern and everyone sends me a picture and their name of the completed project).

Let me know what you guys think.
